CAB ROTO was recommended to our client as they embarked on their fifth hospitality venture.
After successfully establishing numerous restaurants in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, the partners decided to engage professional design advice and styling as they undertook their largest investment to date.

Our clients had decided on creating a Gastropub to target the increasing number of foodies and craft beer enthusiasts sprouting on the coast.
In our first design meeting, a selection of images was presented by the client depicting a ‘steam punk’ themed aesthetic. We had reservations on the theme as trends so distinguishable often date before the fit-out investment is returned, so an alternate mood board was compiled depicting refined industrial styling, vintage floral accents, aged brass highlights and an undeniably masculine edge.
Although expecting a different style to be presented, our clients were immediately on board with the proposed alternate direction and the design was developed to create schematic layouts and photorealistic renderings.
CAB ROTO sourced furniture and joinery for the majority of the fit-out from our overseas suppliers to aid in lowering the start-up costs. The items were detailed to exacting specifications to fit within existing openings, between floor and slab above, and to meet regulatory requirements.
The imported furniture and joinery was received on time, was easy to assembly and was high quality. It was seamlessly tied into locally sourced finishes and fabricated items to create a cohesively furnished space.
The vast experience hospitality experience held by CAB ROTO enabled the design of custom fabricated cocktail and beer stations with trending pouring and rinsing functionality built-in at the original design.
Uptown Social is now open for lunch, dinner and drinks every day.
